How do I slow down a song to learn it by ear?
Drop the track in and pull the speed slider below 1x, 0.75x is a common practice tempo. Because the tool time-stretches rather than resampling, the key stays exactly the same, so what you learn at slow speed still matches the original recording.
How do I change the key of a song without changing the tempo?
Use the pitch slider on its own and leave speed at 1x. Pitch moves in semitones, so +2 raises the track by a whole step and -12 drops it a full octave, while the timing is re-locked to the original tempo.
How many semitones can I shift, and how fast can I go?
Pitch shifts up or down by up to 12 semitones (one full octave in either direction) and speed ranges from 0.5x to 2x. Both controls apply in the same pass, so you can combine them freely.
Can I change the pitch or speed of a video's audio?
Yes. Drop a video file in and the tool automatically uses its audio track, then exports the processed result as an audio file. To put the audio back onto the video, use the FFmpeg Web CLI.
Does it work on an iPhone or Android phone?
It runs in mobile Chrome and Safari, but FFmpeg WebAssembly is CPU-intensive and a phone will take noticeably longer on a long file. Short clips are fine; for full songs or episodes a desktop browser is quicker.
Will changing pitch or speed reduce the audio quality?
Moderate adjustments are close to transparent. Large shifts, especially past several semitones or beyond 1.5x, can introduce time-stretching artifacts on complex material like full music mixes. Speech tolerates bigger changes than music does.
