Ask your AI for a video.

Get a finished, editable WavReel project. WavReel MCP lets your AI agent plan, create and edit videos for you, while rendering stays on your device.

Get your API keyhttps://wavreel.com/api/mcp

How it works

  1. 1.Create a key. Open Settings, MCP and create an API key. It is shown once.
  2. 2.Connect your agent. Paste one command or config block into Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, OpenCode or Gemini CLI.
  3. 3.Ask for a video. Your agent plans it with WavReel and hands back a link. Open it and the editor builds the video for you.

Try asking

  • Make a 45 second vertical video about why octopuses are smart.
  • Turn this blog post into a 30 second video.
  • In my latest WavReel project, cut the first 2 seconds and add a lower third at 3 seconds.

Tools

create_video
Plans a video from a prompt (or from exact narration in `script`) and saves it as an editable WavReel project. Returns an editor_url; the user opens it and WavReel builds the voiceover, footage and layout automatically.
create_video_from_url
Reads a web page, summarizes it and plans a video from it, like create_video.
get_video_plan
Returns the scene-by-scene plan of a project that has not been built yet.
get_project
Returns a project's status, duration, aspect ratio, links and, once built, a compact timeline whose clip refs (c1, c2, m1...) ai_edit understands.
update_video_plan
Changes a plan before it is built: edit scene narration or stock_query, remove or reorder scenes, add a scene, set the title or music mood. Scene numbers `i` start at 1. Only works while status is "planned".
list_projects
Lists the user's projects, newest first. Pass the returned next_cursor to get more.
search_media
Searches footage, photos, GIFs, music, sound effects, emoji or public-domain media. Use the results to write better stock_query values.
list_voices
Lists narration voices, including the user's cloned voices. Pass an id as `voice` to create_video.
list_looks
Lists visual looks (color and film treatments) for the look option.
list_templates
Lists animated text and overlay templates, optionally filtered by a search query.
get_share_link
Returns the public watch link for a finished project. Requires status "ready".
export_video
Rendering happens in the user's browser. Returns a link that opens the editor ready to export.
ai_edit
Applies a natural-language edit (trim, add text, lower thirds, stock media, music, sound effects, animations) to a built project, server-side. Use clip refs from get_project. Pass `if_updated_at` from get_project to avoid overwriting browser edits. A snapshot is saved first; undo with undo_last_mcp_edit.
undo_last_mcp_edit
Restores the project to the state before the most recent ai_edit. Can be repeated (last 20 edits are kept).

FAQ

Where does rendering happen?

On your device, in the editor. The agent plans and edits; you open the link and export the MP4 from your browser.

Does it cost extra?

No. MCP calls use the same plan and AI limits as the web app, including the free tier.

Can I undo what the agent did?

Yes. Every server-side edit is snapshotted first, and undo_last_mcp_edit restores it.

What if I edit in the browser at the same time?

Agents pass the last-seen update time with each edit. If the project changed since, the edit is refused instead of overwriting your work.

Is my key safe?

Keys are stored hashed, can be revoked any time in Settings, and only reach your own projects.
